A day after making his second start of the 2022 season, Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize will miss at least one start with an elbow injury.
The Tigers announced Mize was placed on the 10-day IL after being diagnosed with an elbow sprain on Friday.

OF Daz Cameron has been recalled from Triple A Toledo.
Mize reported discomfort in his elbow after Thursday's start against the Kansas City Royals. Mize took a no-decision in a 4-2 win for the Tigers, allowing two earned runs off six hits in five innings pitched.
The first overall pick out of Auburn in 2018, Mize reached the majors after only two minors league seasons. Mize made six starts in 2020, going 0-3 with a 7.94 ERA. Mize was better last season, going 7-9 with a 3.71 ERA in 30 starts.
In 39 starts over three seasons for Detroit, Mize is 7-13 with a 4.29 ERA.
This season, in two starts, Mize is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA, allowing six runs off 13 hits.
